Shopify Flow is an e-commerce automation platform that allows merchants to create workflows to streamline various tasks and processes within their Shopify store. It is also a “no-code” app, where you can set up everything via a graphical user interface, though if you do want to code, you can.
Here’s how Shopify flow works:
Creating Workflows: Merchants can create workflows using a visual editor provided by the Shopify Flow app. These workflows are made up of triggers, conditions, and actions.
Triggers: Triggers are events that kick off a workflow. They could be actions like a new order being placed, a customer signing up for a newsletter, an inventory level reaching a certain threshold, or any other event that occurs within the Shopify store.
Conditions: Conditions are rules that must be met for the workflow to proceed. For example, a workflow might only trigger if a customer’s order value exceeds a certain amount, or if the customer is from a specific geographic location.
Actions: Actions are the tasks that Shopify Flow performs in response to a trigger and meeting certain conditions. These actions can be anything from sending an email to the customer, tagging orders, updating inventory levels, creating tasks, applying discounts, or even integrating with other apps or services.
Automation: Once a workflow is set up with the appropriate triggers, conditions, and actions, it runs automatically in the background, helping merchants automate repetitive tasks and streamline their operations.
Integration: Shopify Flow integrates seamlessly with other Shopify apps and services, allowing merchants to create complex workflows that span multiple systems and processes.
How does the Shopify Flow app work?
Shopify Flow enables you to build custom automations that help you run your business more smoothly.
Install the Shopify Flow app
- Find the app in the Shopify app store and click “Install”
Once installed, we can begin setting up our workflow. We can either browse templates of predefined flows, or create a custom one from scratch.
If we opt to create a custom flow, for example, we would click the “create flow”, and start setting up the flow.
Overall, Shopify Flow empowers merchants to automate and optimize various aspects of their e-commerce operations, saving time and resources while improving efficiency and customer experience.
